Professor Demis Hassabis, co-founder of Google DeepMind, has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on protein structure prediction using AI. Along with Professor John Jumper and Professor David Baker, their groundbreaking tool, AlphaFold2, revolutionized the understanding of protein structures, solving long-standing challenges and accelerating advancements in medicine, such as antibiotic resistance and plastic-degrading enzymes.

Zoom Introduces AI Companion 2.0 and New AI Features

At Zoomtopia 2024, Zoom introduced several AI innovations, including AI Companion 2.0, which enhances context, web access, and task completion across Zoom Workplace. Other key features include Zoom Tasks, which recommends and automates tasks, and custom AI avatars for Zoom Clips, set to launch in 2025. These AI-driven tools aim to revolutionize the digital workspace, with potential future capabilities like avatars attending meetings and making decisions for users, signaling Zoom’s commitment to reshaping work in an AI-driven world.

Meta Movie Gen sets a new standard for immersive AI content

Meta has introduced Movie Gen, a new AI suite for generating and editing video and audio content, positioning itself against competitors like OpenAI’s Sora. Movie Gen includes four models: a 30B video generator, a 13B audio model, a personalized video model, and a video editing model. It creates HD videos up to 16 seconds from text prompts, with synchronized audio and video editing via text commands. Meta claims it surpasses rivals in video quality, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced it will be integrated into Instagram next year, potentially transforming content creation.

Getting Started with WonderChat for Competitor Research

Step 1: Getting Started with WonderChat

WonderChat allows you to input a website, creating a bot that can search and answer questions based on that site’s content. Here’s how to get started:

1. Sign Up for WonderChat: Visit WonderChat.io and click on Sign Up for Free.

   

2. Create Your Chatbot:

   • Once signed in, I created my bot and named it something relevant to my task, like "Fay’s Competitor Researcher."

   • You can choose what role your bot will serve. In my case, I picked “researcher” since I wanted to do competitive research.

   • After entering the required details, click on Create.

Step 2: Let WonderChat Analyze a Website

Now that the bot is set up, you’ll have to wait around 10-15 minutes for the bot to be ready. WonderChat will analyze the website you provide. In my case, I fed it Nike.com for my competitor research.

Step 3: Interact with Your Chatbot

Once the bot is ready, you can ask it questions based on the data it has pulled from the website. Here are a few things I tried:

1. Finding Trending Products:

   • I asked the bot, “What’s trending on Nike.com?”

   • The bot returned a list of trending products, and it even identified some newly released products, like the “Nike Clock” (which I had to double-check to see if it was accurate—spoiler: it was!).

2. Getting Product Information:

   • I asked, “Can you give me the price and quantity of these products?”

   • WonderChat started crawling the site to provide this information, which was quite impressive.

3. Exploring New Releases:

   • For more specific competitive insights, I asked about Nike’s newest products. WonderChat identified new items and provided relevant details such as release dates and product categories.

Step 4: Review Results and Insights

One of the coolest aspects of WonderChat is how it turns the website into an interactive experience. You can ask questions, receive up-to-date product info, and even get deeper insights into product trends and pricing.

This is a great tool for anyone needing quick and efficient research—especially for founders or anyone conducting competitor analysis.
